An Oldie but a Goodie

I recently found this polaroid of my sister, Mandi, and I at Disney World in 1988. We were convinced that we were princesses, and believed Mickey Mouse was real. Check out our gigantic L.A. Gear hightops and my hot pink fanny pack. It was no doubt the 80's, and I can't help but smile and laugh =)

vintage friday

This Friday's Vintage photo is of none other than my good ole' pops. I love his shaggy 70's hair and old school shades that have incidentally come back into style this summer. The more I stare at this picture, the more I see where my awkward lankiness comes from... haha thanks Dad!

Hope you lovelies have a wonderful weekend. Derek and I will be at the Outside Lands music festival in San Francisco tomorrow jammin to the Dave Matthews Band, Mars Volta, Jason Mraz, Black Eyed Peas, and many more amazing artists, while sampling delicious food from renowned San Francisco eateries. I'm so excited :) Tell you more about it later.

xoxo,
Melissa

i'm gonna love you forever...

Almost 40 years ago, my parents met, fell in love, and began dreaming up their little life together. They were different in almost every way, but somehow were always meant to be.

Vintage Friday on Sunday

Sorry for the delay with my Vintage Friday post. My sister and I have been out painting the town red, and we're not slowing down! This coming week, we're off to Napa Valley, and making preparations for my upcoming 25th Birthday celebration.  Life couldn't be lovlier :)

Because my sister is here, I thought i'd share our very first picture together in 1986.  Don't I look thrilled to have a new baby sister? I already knew that in time, she would be stealing my clothes and jewelry.  Have a wonderful week!

Vintage Friday

The bellbottom wearing dude pictured here is none other than the craziest bird of them all, my dad.  This was taken in beautiful Puerto Rico back in the early 1970's.  I think he was a little younger than I am now in this photo (which is really weird now that I think about it).  Speaking of age, in about two weeks I will be entering my quarter life crisis.  Wonder if I should start panicking...

Nah... that's too much work. I think i'll just sit back and enjoy the ride :)

 Have a great weekend lovelies!

xoxo,
M

ps. I will be in psychopharmacology class all weekend long, so I would love it if you could please leave me lots of comments so I have something to read/do in class (and not to mention, for the sake of my sanity). Ask me questions, tell me jokes, request recipes, anything will do.  I am easily entertained and I will love you forever! Thanks in advance :)

Vintage Friday

My aunt recently unearthed this vintage picture of my mom's family back in the late 50's (she's the little cutie on the far right).  My grandmother was a seamstress back in the day, and made all of her own clothes.  All the outfits seen in this picture were handmade by her.  She always had such great style.  I'll try to post old photos every Friday just for fun.  Hope you enjoyed the first of many vintage pictures!  Have a great weekend my pretties.

xoxo,
Melissa
